Road To Becoming A Flight Attendant
It was just a dream turning into a reality. I thought I won't be able, but here I am just one step further fulfilling that dream. I'm clearly not an optimist person, I always procrastinate myself knowing it's not a good thing, doing so won't even get my anywhere. Then, I just said, "No! Ivy that's enough of negativity!' I have to believe in my self that I can and able to do the things I love to do, it might take time but I believe I will get there.
There's a lot of overthinking, I made few mistakes in the past that seems catching up on me. But what way can we overcome it? Forgive ourselves, learning from that mistakes, focusing what lies ahead and never turn back, use that strength to keep moving forward. I thought I won't become a flight attendant but I guess there's still a hope for me. I sent out my resume hoping to get a job after a long years of none. Finally a week or two I've got a video interview from Republic Airlines and from then and there on I didn't expect I'll get a job offer letter then further instructions followed, I got in for the Training Class that happens in Indianapolis on the 14th of March 2019. Training goes up to 24 days I've heard both good and bad things about it but sometimes you can't really know until you're there and experience it for yourself. During half of the training one thing I realize during my time there. Base on what I went through FOCUS is the key to everything. Aside from studying what they teach you, it is important to apply it to my day to day life. I aim to reach the end of the 24 days and get certified.
It was a road I want to fulfill and I put my heart on it. Exams and drills are just the main step to get that wings. Safety is actually the main thing for this training, second is the customer service satisfaction. You're working with a company thriving to reach the same goal as you. I've been working in customer service for nearly 9 years and I know and see different faces of it. I'm not saying I already know everything. I'm still learning this road because you meet different people, it is not the same as service always excel.
So when you focus and give your 100% you'll earn it back. 24 days of training went well, I met many people, made new friends and my world seems to get a little bigger. We all support each other, maybe there's some insecurities and dramas along the way. As for me I continue being myself, brushing it off and continuing the duty in task.
You will also meet people that can be your buddy for the crucial training, it also lighten the loads and make studying easy. Sometimes, I like to be by myself so I can focus more but with friends it helps you understand things, talk about topics that might be confusing.
I will not let this blog too long but yes I finished the training, graduate and got my wings. I scored 96% at the finals and passed all my Drills even though the last one I have to repeat and that's okay I learned from it. I'm super grateful I have a group of people supported me to reach this dream. My husband especially he believed in me even sometimes I'm almost giving up. My family who always encourage me to always try the things that will always challenge me in this life. Finally, God who always gives me strength, without HIM I am nothing.
I'm super excited to share my adventure to the next blog and for a little treat, the benefits are great so me and my husband's trip to NYC is posted here too!
XOXO
