Thusrday Fever: I'm Not Weird
I posted in my Instagram about the word WEIRD. I will not make this post too long, just want to make something out of it.
To talk about it more, first let us define Weird by searching in the Dictionary:
WEIRD
Google Dictionary
adjective
- 1.suggesting something supernatural; uncanny.
As for people defining weird is different. It is like isolating someone with this kind of Character or personality because it is not the usual, not the ordinary and you don't want to be with someone who is weird. The generation before is way different from now as time changes everyone's perception also changes. I think there are still other doesn't embrace the weird side and that's okay. We become more sensitive and more naive to what's going on in this world. When someone call you WEIRD it doesn't hurt your feelings anymore rather you say "Thank you!" because it is now part of compliment. Being weird is the new cool! Before it is such a taboo word that people avoid weird people.
Almost everyday my husband tells me I'm weird and he loves me for it. Maybe because I do weird stuff, collect weird stuff, act weird, I don't know it makes the relationship with my husband exciting and not boring. I guess?
Anyways, I remember in college, during my EMO days (which also undergo weird category) people doesn't want to be friends with me and since I'm weird I avoid crowd, I try to keep it in myself. My choice of music, show, clothing I don't fit in to be quite exact. That's my happy place. Most of them doesn't hangout with me or like me until I met my organization who embrace weird people like me. I learned that when you're not in the trend and when you don't do stuff that the majority do YOU'RE WEIRD. Again, as time goes by it changes being weird is not as bad as it is the way people define it.
In conclusion we can say that it is not bad being Weird, it is just make us a unique being, different from everybody. Embrace it!
xoxo,
Ivy
