Catching Up: Life, Work, and Everything In Between

It’s been a while since I’ve shared what’s been happening lately, so I thought it’s about time for a little catch-up. Life has been moving fast — between work, family, and trying to find bits of time for myself, I’ve realized how important it is to pause and just reflect.

It’s officially been four months since I started my new job, and I can honestly say I’ve learned so much in such a short time. The transition came with new routines, challenges, and plenty of lessons, but it’s been fulfilling watching myself grow both personally and professionally. There’s a sense of accomplishment in knowing I’m where I need to be, even when the days get long. Every little step forward reminds me how far I’ve come and how much I still want to achieve.

At home, things are just as lively and meaningful. Lincoln is learning more and more as we continue navigating the homeschool part of life, and it’s such a joy to watch him blossom. His curiosity amazes me every day — always asking questions, exploring, and learning in his own creative ways. He had loads of candies from last week’s trick-or-treating, and seeing his excitement through all the costumes, laughter, and sugar rushes was the kind of memory that stays with you.

Lately, I’ve been embracing hobbies that make me feel more grounded and content. One of the biggest ones has been making sourdough bread from scratch. It started as a simple curiosity but quickly turned into something I truly enjoy. From creating the starter to finally getting the perfect loaf — crispy on the outside, soft and airy inside — I can say it’s been a journey of patience and persistence. We’ve pretty much stopped buying store-bought bread now, and it feels rewarding knowing we’re enjoying something homemade, wholesome, and preservative-free.

Another little project I’ve been proud of is setting up my office space in our bedroom
. It’s not completely finished yet — I’m still adding touches to make it aesthetically complete — but it already feels like my peaceful corner. I love that I can now sit down anytime, day or night, and work on my blog or other creative ideas when inspiration hits. It’s my cozy sanctuary, and I can already imagine all the projects that will start here.

Once everything feels a bit more settled, I’m planning to continue my podcast too. I’ve already recorded two episodes so far, and getting back to that creative space is something I’m really looking forward to. It’s another outlet where I can share thoughts, stories, and honest reflections — something that connects with people who may be walking through similar seasons of life.

I’ve also realized lately that being a full-time employee and the light of the house is both fulfilling and exhausting — but incredibly rewarding. Keeping up with household chores, working Monday to Friday in a 9-to-5 rhythm, and still finding time to be present as a mom and partner can feel like a lot some days. But at the same time, it’s what makes everything worth it. The feeling of accomplishment after a long day, knowing that I’m doing my best for my family, makes the tired moments fade away.

Sometimes it’s messy, sometimes overwhelming, but it’s also filled with love, laughter, and purpose. I’ve learned that balance isn’t about having everything perfect — it’s about showing up, doing what you can, and cherishing the little moments that make life so special.

So here’s to catching up, slowing down, and appreciating where we are right now — even in the in-between. Because this moment, just as it is, deserves to be celebrated.
